These ten practices — simple, quiet, entirely yours — are an invitation to slow down. To meet yourself before and after you move. To let your yoga be more than just the poses.

BEFORE
01 — Take one deep breath at the door
Before you walk onto your mat, pause.
Inhale. Exhale.
Let everything you were carrying drop just a little.
02 — Touch something soft on your way in
Your scarf. Your yoga blanket. Your own palm.
A tiny gesture that says: I'm ready to soften.
03 — Place your hands on your belly when you first lie down
Feel it rise and fall.
No assessment. No story.
Just: here I am.
04 — Let your jaw hang open for three breaths
We hold so much there without realizing.
Release it before you even begin to move.
05 — Whisper your intention instead of thinking it
Hearing your own voice — even quietly — makes it real.

AFTER
06 — Keep your eyes closed a little longer than feels natural
After your practice, resist the urge to pop up.
Linger in that space where you're not quite back yet.
07 — Roll up your mat like it matters
Slowly. With care.

08 — Step outside before you reach for your phone
Feel the air on your face first.
Let the world come back to you gradually, not all at once.
09 — Notice one beautiful thing around you
A tree. A color. The way the light hits the pavement.
Your perception is softer now. Let yourself see.
10 — Eat something nourishing within the hour
Not because you should.
Because your body just did something sacred and deserves to be fed with real food.
